Our Values
The DÜV agency, operated by the Dolmetscher- und Übersetzervereinigung (DÜV) translators’ and interpreters’ association, can not be compared to other commercial translation and interpretation agencies. As part of the professional association and together with our translators and interpreters, we uphold its professional ethics and values. This enables us to realize successful communications projects with our clients. After all, our clients and their wishes are at the centre of our thoughts and actions.
Swissness
Our translators and interpreters are perfectly familiar with Swiss customs and culture (the political system, federalism, the Swiss economy and, of course, Swiss German). They live in Switzerland and pay their taxes here.
Quality and Professionalism
All of the agency’s freelance language professionals have a master’s degree in Professional Translation or Conference Interpreting or an equivalent diploma. They are highly quality-conscious and commit themselves to regularly attending continuing education courses.
Solidarity and Loyalty
Because the DÜV agency is operated by the association, we know all of our language professionals personally, and they know us. Our relationship is based on mutual solidarity and the loyalty of our members.
Fairness
It is important to us that we offer our translators and interpreters good and fair working conditions, which in turn ensure high-quality execution of the commissioned work. This includes adequately reimbursing our language professionals, which is possible because we are a non-profit agency. Furthermore, all of the agency’s freelance translators and interpreters commit to complying with the strict rules of professional conduct and our professional standards.

As part of the professional association, supporting newcomers is important to us. For suitable assignments, we work with young professionals, coached and accompanied by an experienced colleague. This allows us to help them get established while at the same time ensuring that our clients profit from the high-quality services they are accustomed to.

The Swiss Paraplegics Association has been working with the DÜV agency for many years. Their consistent reliability and flexibility are reaffirmed year after year as we work with them. And this year with the corona pandemic, in particular, the DÜV agency has done an excellent job.
